Monet Inspired

Monet Inspired

A gorgeous Monet inspired wedding photo shoot, photographed by Samantha Ong Photography, is featured in the Wedluxe online blog. A romantic, French, pastel design brings to life the beauty of the series ‘Water Lilies’; oil paintings done by Claude Monet, in the late 1800s. This elegant wedding theme – co-styled by The Social Rose & Swoon Events – features exquisite watercolours with organic elements throughout every detail.

The invitations – created by So Pretty In Print – set the tone, with its simple classic design; showcasing both the watered, pastel colour palette, along with mini flower detailing, allowing the invitations to reflect the textural aspects of the Water Lilies series.

It is known that Claude Monet’s inspiration for this specific series of oil painting was the garden Monet had planted, outside his home in France. The bouquet and boutonnieres were designed to imitate the natural beauty of Monet’s original muse. Using a variety of greens, roses, peonies, tweedia, butterfly ranunculus and other wild flowers as fillers, in both the bouquet and boutonniere to create a graceful organic style, that would amplify the enchantment of any bride’s special day.

The delicate water colours are accented with gold urns and chairs – provided by Detailz Couture Event Rentals – to enhance the wow-factor and bring forth a French country aura to the overall concept. The tall pussy willows adds yet another element of texture in an airy display to really create an impact, while allowing guests to appreciate the artistic beauty.

Any bride would fall in love all over again having this organic, airy design, with its simple yet elegant array of colours and details, being a modern take on an iconic masterpiece.

Bouquets

Bouquets

Bouquets are the finishing touch for your big day. It is a statement piece for you to show your personality, and tie the wedding together. What you wear on your wedding day will hugely influence what style of bouquet you should choose. The perfect bouquet can enhance your silhouette and ensure that you look every bit the perfect bride that you are. This is why it’s essential to consider the style of your dress before making the selection of your bouquet.

The Hand-tied bouquet has become widely popular in weddings and is one of our favourite styles. Women of all heights and builds can carry this bouquet and it will suit both modern and traditional style dresses, depending on which flowers you choose. The handtied can also be manipulated into different shapes depending on floral selections, while still keeping the integrity of the flowers by leaving them in their natural form.

Organic Garden Wedding

Organic Garden Wedding

We absolutely love creating designs that are inspired by nature; working with blooms in their natural form makes for some of the most awe inspiring creations. So when A & A came to us with their vision for a white a green garden oasis wedding we were beyond thrilled.

We used hydrangeas, garden roses and lisianthus all in dreamy white hues, mixed with lush foliages to create the couple’s stunning arrangements. Hanging amaranthus added the extra organic touch the couple was looking for, along with the mini succulents we planted in tealight stands along the table tops. Pops of rich gold contrasted the earthy designs, while Copper Creek acted as the perfect backdrop for the day.

Modern Chinese Weddings Inspiration

Modern Chinese Weddings Inspiration

As mentioned in our last post we had the pleasure of working with Asian Fusion Weddings on this Chinese New Year inspired shoot. In compliment with the traditional scape we designed, we also styled a modern table for the less traditional bride.

The traditional blue and white vases provided by Plate Occasions were the perfect vessel for our modern arrangements, creating the perfect contrast of “new and old”. Our airy garden arrangements in bright pinks and ivory contrasted beautifully with the blue vases and added the modern touch to the centrepieces.

Traditional Chinese Design

Traditional Chinese Design

Back in January we had the pleasure of working with Asian Fusion Weddings to create this shoot inspired by Chinese New Year. We created this traditional table scape, as well as a modern set, both inspired by Oriental design.

We were inspired by Ikebana style for our traditional pieces, emphasizing shape, line and form as well as minimalism. The use of line was created by grouping of snake grass, with a focal point being created by clustering cymbidium orchids in a deep red.

In Chinese culture red plays a vital role, it is associated with success, loyalty, honor, fertility, and love, amongst others. Because of this, decorations at Chinese weddings are generally in red, which we stayed true to in our design, while combining with gold vases, which is also a symbolic colour, portraying wealth and fortune.
